Mike Tumlinson is a talented wood designer who works with his clients to customize their wood design ideas to their specifications and personal activities.
Mike believes in high-quality work and builds all designs by hand so your items will truly be one of a kind! He proudly makes his designs in his woodshop located in Bryan, Texas.
Mike started his wood design work as a hobby making custom and personalized cedar ice coolers for his friends and family twenty years ago. Since then, and due to COVID-19, he is “semi-retired” after working 30+ years in the oilfield and has turned his hobby into a full-time business. His wife, Brenda, has a house full of custom-designed furniture, coffee servers, crosses, cutting and serving boards, and corn hole game boards along with a beautiful picnic table.
Mike’s quality work is on full display in their home and this has resulted in requests for custom designs for other family members and friends to include entertainment centers, hope chests, custom saddle holder, potato and onion bins, live edge cedar river tables, and armoires. He has donated several pieces of his work to churches for their annual fundraising events, the Chamber of Commerce, and other local fundraising events. He is very proud that one of his customized ice coolers was auctioned for $1,100.00!
Mike’s love for woodworking and design started in his woodshop class in junior high school where he was taught wood cutting and the importance of measurement accuracy. He was taught to take pride in his work as it is a reflection of his craftsmanship.
